Join us in Australia for an Around The Table Discipleship Training School (DTS)!
Have you seen the painting “The Last Supper” by Da Vinci? Does it give you a glimpse of Jesus’ life with His disciples? Often in the Bible, we see Jesus and His disciples, sitting around a table enjoying a meal together. He loved spending quality time with those He met.
Take Zacchaeus, Jesus invited Himself over for lunch and during the course of the meal, Zacchaeus’ life was turned around. Through this example, we see that Jesus was relational and personal with the people He met.
With that, our Around the Table DTS invites those who love intentional fellowship, conversations about life and faith, centred around preparing meals or enjoying a cup of tea or coffee with friends. Imagine yourself beginning a lifestyle where you impact the lives of those around you by simply inviting them over for a meal and shared conversion.
Join our table as we commune with Jesus and each other.
This 6-month course is a full-time, unique, live/learn community experience. It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase. The lecture phase will offer you a time of deep revelation as well as liberating personal application. Encounter God like never before as you hear from seasoned speakers who live out the principles they teach. The outreach phase will take you to places you have only dreamed about as you take the Gospel into the nations! Grow in confidence as you share your testimony from small to large groups in cross-cultural settings.
Example core curriculum topics include:
As part of the Around The Table Elective, you’ll join the Cultures Theme. The Cultures Theme in July joins the World Explorer, Around The Table and Classic electives in one DTS lecture phase. Each DTS will have a coordinator gathering students around that elective. This may come in forms such as small group activities, excursions, events, or guest speakers.
While you’ll have specific times for your DTS elective, this will not occur every week. It is important to see electives as a point of gathering similar individuals without taking priority over the core purpose of the DTS. However, we cannot guarantee that each DTS elective will have a major representation on the outreach phase. Our hope is to look for how we can incorporate the elective on outreach but factors outside our control such as culture, event coordination, and ministry contact preferences may affect what is possible.
An elective is defined by:
- Gathering similar individuals.
- A leader with an affinity or passion for that elective (but not required).
- Low level, structured inclusion during lecture phase.
- Outreach inclusion of the elective where culturally possible and appropriate.
Step out in faith and take ground for the Kingdom of God as you communicate with creativity and passion. Use your gift to cross the many barriers that can get in the way of effectively making God known.
The outreach phase is your opportunity to travel to a foreign culture, BRINGING THE HOPE OF CHRIST TO THE NATIONS. The Great Commission to “go into all the world & make disciples” will be pumping through your veins as you jump into this cross cultural journey to make God known.
Outreach will take you to the places you have only ever dreamed about! Grow in confidence as you share your testimony to large audiences. Whether you are called to long-term or short-term missions, the benefit of going to a cross-cultural location and seeing the needs of that location and then being part of the solution is life changing!
Each DTS sends teams to unique locations. Here are a few places we have gone:
