Venezuelan Sports DTS Outreach Update

By YWAM Newcastle on April 30, 2011 in Discipleship Training Schools, Outreach

Here is the latest from one of our Sports DTS leaders, Zack Yoder, on their outreach to Venezuela!
Greetings from Maracay, Venezuela!
I am currently using the internet in one of the local pastors house. We, as a team, have just come back from doing ministry about 40 minutes away from the church we are staying at and we were able to play soccer in the local courts for the people there for about 30 minutes and then we brought everyone together. Daniel Twyerould gave a testimony into the gospel message and about 20 guys responded to give their lives to Jesus (There was only a little over 20 people there total)!
Because of similar passion for sports evangelism, we have had many opportunities to partner with the local churches. This has been the perfect set up for our school, a sports dts, because we gather people and play sports for a time and then take a break to share testimonies and the gospel. We then repeat the whole process! Yesterday we had about 6 give their lives to Jesus through this. This area is very hungry for the gospel and we are seeing some awesome fruit.
We spend one more day here in Maracay before heading further west to a place called Barquisimeto for one week. Then we will come back to Maracay for another week and finish our time in Venezuela in Caracas!

Please pray for the Sport DTS Outreach in Venezuela as they continue to share the love of Jesus!
