Outdoors DTS Begins

By YWAM Newcastle on January 27, 2011 in Discipleship Training Schools

Its finally here! After months of preparation and prayer, Outdoors Discipleship Training School 2011 has begun.

Now, introducing our students,
Josh Emmel from Minnesota.
Riina Kaul from Finland and
Erin Emmerich from Hawaii.
We also have Jeff and Stevie Poitra, two brothers from Alaska who are still trying to get here, but we’ll keep you updated on that as well. If you can pray for them, they need Passports asap and then visas and flights in the next couple days!

Outdoors DTS, although apart of YWAM Newcastle is 40 minutes outside the city in a place called Tahlee. Its a 10 acre property on Port stephens waterfront, backed by heaps of woods and forest. We even have out own mountain on the property. This is the key part of making this school and outdoors DTS. We use Gods creation and nature to seek and know him the best way possible so that we can share Him in the most relevant way possible.

We have 12 weeks of lectures, and each week is a different topic such as the character of God, Missions, relationships and calling and vision. Then, after those 12 weeks we go on outreach overseas for approximately 8 weeks to put all the the things we’ve learned into practise! Just 2 days ago we announced the locations, we are going to two nations in Asia!

It’s going to be an exciting ride, and We’re pretty thrilled to have you able to be apart of it as you read here every week about what God is doing here.

Bless you heaps!
