On Thursday afternoon my outreach team and I spent the afternoon playing Volleyball on the beach as our time of ministry. Throughout the afternoon we were all a little unsure of how this would go, I mean,
how much conversation can be had while playing a sport?
Little did we know- God had something much bigger than we could have ever imagined or planned for.
We played with these French guys for about 4 hours in the sun and had fun building relationships with them. However, we didn’t get the opportunity to have as much conversation as we were hoping to.
The next afternoon our team was hosting a free BBQ in the park and immediately when we arrived one of my teammates and I spotted a couple of the guys that we played volleyball with the day before at the bus stop.
As we were talking with them one of the guys mentions that he had a lot of pain in his right arm.
We then got the chance to pray for his arm and immediately the pain went away. This led to an incredible opportunity to share The Gospel with these two guys and explain to them how it was Jesus who healed him. The guys ended up coming to the BBQ and catching a bus later that night so they could hang out with us more. We had the chance to learn more about their faith, as they were both Muslims, and we got to give them both bibles. Both of these guys were incredibly open to hearing about God and what we believe, and they were in complete awe as to how the healing happened.
Although we didn’t see any salvations,
there was no doubt that God moved in these two guys life on Friday night.
We got to share with them about our Father, and about how much He loves each of them. It never ceases to amaze me how close God is to us. His longing for relationship with us is relentless, and I am so excited so see what God has in store for the next 9 weeks of outreach. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!
