Every Saturday night, I’m happily shocked how suddenly the weekend arrived. Our weekdays, rather than just spent in a classroom, are also filled with singing in worship, meals together, and serving in practical ways around the base. Instead of “living for the weekend”, like I would in school, I’m stoked about daily life here on DTS.
But yes, I do get tired. Mind-blowing and heart-transforming experiences are often exhausting! Yet over this past week, a verse that I though I knew well kept popping up. “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” -Matthew 11:28.
Wait, God designed us to have times of rest and relaxation? Definitely.
All over again I am discovering how vital the weekend is for those experiences to sink in– as well as to have fun getting to know amazing people.
Therefore, with a little help from my friends and our cameras, here’s a glimpse of what our weekends looks like during a DTS in Newcastle, Australia.
