Hi my name is Ángeles, I’m from Chile, South America, and I joined YWAM in October 2014, now I’m living in YWAM Newcastle doing the School of Communication & Digital Influence and these are five things that I’ve learn during this time.
Going to YWAM helped me awaken from the life that society wanted me to have into the real and exciting life that God created and planned for me before I was born.
1.The people from other countries, are actually not so different.
We are really similar in a lot of ways, for example we all desire to share or feel love, help others and build a future. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to live with people from all nations. So many times they ask me the question, “What are the people in Chile like?” And the answer is the same every time, they are lovely humans, like me and like you.
2.We can have a real relationship with God!
The creator of all things, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, wants to chat with me and have fun moments together. He wants to make me laugh, to be with me all the time, comfort me when I’m sad, show me his love when I’m afraid and be my best friend. AWESOME!
3.God loved us even when we didn’t love him and with all our failures he continues to love us.
That’s mind blowing for me because that means all the things we do doesn’t change God’s love for us. He doesn’t love us more or less by our actions, He loves us right now, all the time with all his heart.
4. Communication is transformational not just transactional.
You can transform people through the things you say or do, which is why we are transformed when we communicate with God and also when we communicate to other people. This means all of us can be used by God to transform lives!
5. Truth doesn’t have to be defended.
Truth rises to the surface, and EVERYBODY that searches for it will find it.
There a lot more things that I’m still learning, and I know it will be awesome.
