The other night while we were praying, God gave Lorna a vision of stone statues along the malecón boardwalk in Mazatlan. She also had a picture of the lion Aslan from the movie, “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe,” breathing life on to the statues.
That evening she was in a small evangelism group with another student Laura, and translator Mitch. Laura had a vision of showing people a mirror and asking what they saw. They approached a guy sitting by the malecón and asked him what he saw when he looked in the mirror.
He said he saw a monster.
He was only 23 and had a thick history of suicide attempts, prison, being in a mental institution and getting shot in a mass shooting in Mazatlan where he had to be resuscitated.
Lorna shared her testimony and they all shared the words and pictures God had given them. Mitch felt like he was supposed to give the guy a hug.
The guy looked terrified and said he had never had a hug before.
Lorna felt God say to give him some prophetic art of a boat on water with an anchor with the word ‘secure’ written in Spanish. It was the first gift he had been given and said that he would treasure it forever!
The team saw this man transition from being emotionally dead, scared and hopeless; to laughing and joking at the end of their conversation. God had been telling Lorna to ‘stop for the one’ and this was the main person she felt like she impacted during Carnival. She got to reach out and see the fruit of going after the one, like Jesus did. They got to participate in the renewal of hope for one man who had not recently seen it anywhere else.
