We have been in the beautiful city of Lautoka, Fiji for a little bit over a week. Because of the cyclone, we just recently were blessed with electricity. It has been fantastic! We have done some house-to-house evangelism in the villages, prison ministry, and we also helped clean up a church that suffered some damage after the cyclone. We took advantage of the chance to be a part of their Sunday service. We performed a drama, spoke over the offering and communion, shared testimonies, and delivered the message. Scott and Tina finished up with singing a song together.
Our first Sunday in town, we attended a deaf and mute church where we got the opportunity to perform our “Sin Chair” drama as well as share our testimonies. The pastor and his wife are both deaf. They have seven children who helped translate for us. This past Saturday, we had the deaf and mute church over to the house. We had a wonderful dinner and fellowship time! We were taught some Fijian Sign Language that included learning “Jesus Loves Me” and “Smile A While” in sign language. Before the night ended, we were honored to hear some of their amazing testimonies. One woman shared her heart touching story of turning to Christianity after being born and raised a Muslim.
We look forward to continuing to get to know their community and are super stoked for the weeks to come!
