Last Friday We Believed…

From the Director…

Dear friend,
Last Friday evening was one of those amazing community times, gathering to pray for “believe”. Many of our staff and students were coming forward with a word, a provocation, an opportunity for God to search our hearts. Nothing orchestrated, just God moving, prompting, a heart shift here, a provocation to generosity there and concluding with a time of powerful, devoted worship. We are very conscious that as we face enormous challenges the Lord is so ready to extend Himself, but He wants to teach us during these exhilarating times. God is shaping us and creating precious memories in the process, however our community doesn’t stop in Newcastle. We would be honoured if you were to feel a part of this personal-corporate transformation, as he leads our extended YWAM community. Many of you have already told us you’ve linked your hearts to “believe” in some way. For example, someone has committed to fast every friday during the campaign! We’d love to think that you feel very built up in God through Believe. God is building buildings in this time, but he is also building people.

Past Giving
We wanted to highlight some of the things we’ve been able to achieve from past giving and how that has specifically contributed to the growth of our centre. Your obedience and generosity is significantly changing the face of YWAM. In addition to the warehouse, our campus includes three residential houses. Giving in 2010 resulted in major renovations and provision of quality accommodation for our growing number of staff families. The significance of this has been the availability and improvement of family housing as it has resulted in an increase from four families on staff prior to the build, to now ten couples and families! Put simply, that is a truckload of more ministry.
This upcoming build is our biggest to date. Looking back at the significance of what Gods done and the generosity shown in past projects we are full of faith for more than enough for this build in July. We’re talking ceilings, walls, a mezzanine, bathrooms, gantrys and fire protection. The end result will give us the ability to do double the ministry that we’re doing now.

Thank you so much for reading. Stay tuned for unprecedented reports next week from our January DTS teams returning from outreach, as well as we’ll catch you up on the great ‘Believe’ momentum that’s happening right now!

Warmest Regards,

P.S. Check out a brand new campaign endorsement video featuring our local state member of parliament and other friends.
